We recently got back from Dandy Wellington’s Fascinating Voyage with Ahoy Vintage Cruises. I was involved with the marketing and had the pleasure of coordinating with Dandy as a social convenor.

It was a terrific once-in-a-lifetime trip and I’m so glad that we were able to share the experience with about 120 other people. The spirit of the event was #vintagestylenotvintagevalues and from the point of view of the guests, I’d ay it was a great success.

Thanks to all of you stylish folks who came out to Centre Island for Stylish Sunday. We had some absolutely stunning participants. They represented different eras of fashion which was very cool. All the way from the 1800s to modern era. Some folks were wearing genuine vintage (delicate!) and some made their own outfits. We turned lots of heads and got some fantastic photos.

Easter Tea 2022

As much as we wanted to hold an Easter Parade this year, it still felt too volatile with Omnicron and we were a bit too busy anyways to make it work. Next year!

But that didn’t mean we wouldn’t dress up. First we took Daisy for a stroll in Grimsby Beach, home of the wonderful gingerbread cottages. Then we went to Niagara-on-the-Lake for afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales. It was a very nice day.

Easter 2021

Last year when we dressed up for Easter, it was still early in the pandemic and we certainly thought that we’d be back to in-person events by Easter 2021. That hasn’t panned out, but even so, it didn’t stop us from getting dressed up.

Leading up to this year, I mentioned around a bit online that it would be fun to use the hashtag #VirtualVintageEasterParade to share photos online. I didn’t have time to promote it too much but some people did participate so take a peruse here.

We took a little stroll in Niagara-on-the-Lake and managed to avoid getting too near anyone. All in good fun!

Geoff’s hat is from the Beau Chapeau in Niagara-on-the-Lake. For my hat, I added some large modern daisies to an old hat.

For my shoes, I finally had the chance to debut this pair of WEST shoes in champagne from Saint Savoy.  

It was too chilly without the jacket but I wore two spring brooches from Erstwilder, one on the blouse and one on the jacket.

Looking forward to doing something with other humans for Easter 2022… I hope. But alone or in company, we’re sure to dress up.

Dapper Day Review

Since we didn’t get to go to Dapper Day in April 2020 as we had planned, we thought we’d make a little video reviewing what exactly is Dapper Day and why do we love it so much!

We absolutely love Dapper Day. We’ve been twice to Dapper Day at Disney World and the next time we intend to go to Disneyland where there is both the park outing and also the Dapper Day Expo. Can’t wait!

The Best Roaring Twenties Party in Toronto – January 2020

We had an incredible time on January 18th, 2020 and thank goodness we did! We were blissfully ignorant of how the rest of the year would go down. Actually, we squeezed in a Jazz Age Brunch on March 1st as well before things fell apart.

The January event shown here included a VIP hour with cocktails and canapé, vintage performances, Best Dressed Contest, Charleston Contest, and more.
